1.1 Admission Regulations

1.1.1 General Rules

• Candidates must apply online via www.mcut.edu.pk and register through the portal.

• After registration, applicants must complete the Admission Application Form and upload documents.

• A system-generated challan will be provided to deposit the non-refundable fee.

• Application status can be checked online.

• Selected candidates must submit all required documents and fees before the deadline.

• All admissions are provisional and subject to document verification.

• Discovery of fake documents at any stage will lead to expulsion, cancellation of degree, and legal action.

• The university may rectify errors or cancel admission based on merit corrections.

• Conditional admissions may be granted by the Vice Chancellor.

• The university may start or discontinue programs at its discretion.

• A second phase of admissions may be initiated as approved by the Vice Chancellor.

1.1.2 Equivalent Examinations

Recognized equivalents include:

• Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) – BISE Azad Kashmir

• Cambridge Overseas HSC

• A-Level (Maths, Physics, Chemistry)

• Pre-Medical with additional Mathematics

• American High School Diploma

All equivalents must be accompanied by IBCC equivalence certificates.

1.1.3 Eligibility & Merit

• Admission is merit-based and open to all.

• Programs follow NTC-prescribed criteria:

  • 70% Academic (FSc/DAE/ICS/BSc)

  • 30% Entry Test

• Minimum 50% adjusted admission score required.

• Two marks are deducted per year (maximum 5 years) for gap years.

• Hafiz-e-Quran candidates can earn +20 bonus marks after evaluation.

1.1.4 Seat Allocation (BSc Engineering Technology)

1.1.5 BS (4-Year) Program Criteria

• BS CS, Math, Physics, Chemistry: Minimum 60% in FSc (Pre-Engineering)

• BBA: Minimum 50% in FSc or equivalent

• 3% quota reserved for DAE holders

1.1.6 Merit Calculation

Merit = 70% B + 30% A

• A = Entry Test Marks (%)

• B = Academic Marks (%) including Matric + Inter + Hafiz bonus

• 2 marks deducted per gap year (max 5 years)

1.1.7 Diploma Holders

Merit = 70% B + 30% A

• B = Matric + DAE + Hafiz bonus

• A = Entry Test Marks (%)

1.1.8 Gender

All genders are eligible to apply.

1.1.9 Hafiz-e-Quran

20 bonus marks awarded after successful test/interview by Hafiz Committee.

1.1.10 Tie-Breaker

If candidates have the same merit score, preference will be given to:

1. Higher marks in the latest degree

2. Higher marks in the previous degree

3. Coin toss / lucky draw / age factor

1.1.11 Transfer Policy

• Written request is required.

• Mutual transfers are allowed within 15 days of class commencement.

1.1.12 Variation in Seats

The university may revise the number of seats as necessary.

1.1.13 Reserved Seats

• Reserved seats are based on government policies.

• Any unused reserved seats may be converted to open merit.

1.1.14 Interpretation

Final interpretation and decisions rest with the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and Admission Committee.

1.1.15 Removal of Difficulties

The Vice Chancellor has the authority to resolve issues in accordance with the university act.

1.2 Student Discipline Regulations

Students are expected to uphold:

1.2.2 Discipline & Law

• Students must maintain moral and intellectual discipline.

• Violations of university rules will lead to disciplinary action.

• Students must obey the university's code of conduct and the law.

1.2.3 Jurisdiction

The student code applies to:

• On-campus and off-campus university activities

• Academic activities including internships and projects

• Any damage or threat to university property

• Incidents under police or legal investigation

The university retains the right to proceed with disciplinary action even if:

• The student withdraws or is no longer enrolled

• A parallel criminal case is ongoing
